Thom Powell is thirty year veteran science teacher from Portland and a twenty five year veteran to the study of the bigfoot/sasquatch phenomenon. During that time he has also written prolifically on the subject. he has authored three books on the subject: ‘The Locals’ is an exploration of the scientific underpinnings of the sasquatch phenomenon. ‘Shady Neighbors’ is a novel about a rural family that realizes the woods around their house is inhabited by mysterious beings that seem to have a definite agenda. ‘Edges of Science’ signals Powell’s turn toward a wider interpretation of the sasquatch phenomenon that embraces other, seemingly unrelated paranormal phenomena that factor into any ultimate understanding of the true nature of the sasquatch mystery. Thom has uncovered a new line of evidence that strengthens the connection between seemingly separate paranormal phenomena, so he will explore that connection and how it all points to subterranean origins for much ET, and sasquatch, and a probable connection between these and other phenomena The biggest difference between Thom Powell and other sasquatch researchers is that he advocates the view that the sasquatch phenomenon is merely the tip of a much larger paranormal iceberg. Whether or not Powell is correct in this view remains to be seen but two things can definitely be said: These views that are so articulately expressed in ‘Edges of Science’ are gaining acendancy with every passing year AND his view make for some very thought-provoking presentations. As a result of his career as a science teacher before some tough audiences, he also happens to be a pretty entertaining speaker.
